Author Topic: Honda CB350F/400F/550 Ignition Points and Timing Plate Allen Bolt Sizes?  (Read 857 times)

Hi All,

Does anybody know the sizes of the screws for the timing plates. I don't see them all listed in the parts diagrams.

I believe the 3 large bolts will be M5x14 but I don't know the smaller 6 adjustment bolts. See image.

I have had allen bolts there, but I didn't like it. Using a good JIS screwdriver offers much more feel; less risk of overtorqueing.

The smaller screws are M4 but I don't recall the length

New CB750 K5 Planet Blue, demise by ex cousin in law at 9,000 miles...
New CB750 K6 Anteres Red, to replace the totaled K5, I sold this K6 at 45k in 1983, I had heavily modified it, many great memories on it and have missed it greatly.....

Dont forget plain and spring washers
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

Yep and be aware most pics do not show all washers. Here's a good one.

Plus you have to be careful with allen bolts as it is easy to overtighten and strip the threads in the plate
