76' CB550 - charging?
« on: October 26, 2025, 11:15:04 AM »
I believe my system doesn't charge on a low rpm. I would like it to change from 1 RPM. How do I do that?

I understand there is a thong called a rectifier combo that would be a good up grade. How do I put one in

I know nothing much about elect stuff. So i need color coding info as well as step by step. To

Simple answer you cant get it to charge at low rpm, you need power going into the field to get power out of the stator and the laws of physics says you have to put engine revs in to get power out as the fluctuating magnetic field caused by slotted rotor makes more volts at higher revs
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
