CB750E What have I got ?
« on: November 03, 2025, 12:38:33 PM »
1973 Honda CB750 .  On the steering neck I have CB750 - 2209470.  On the engine plate I have CB750E-2211058.
I am confused.   :)

Hello, welcome.
The frame and engine numbers don't match on the CB750's if that's what's confusing you.
Based on those numbers you have what you think you have, a 1973 CB750!  :)

Thanks cb69750.  Good info.
I've had this bike for years trading some work for it back in 1981 but funny thing i never rode it.  Gave it to my brother and now i've inherited it back.  Last registered in '99 yeah.
Where did you get this info from.  I see all this info on K1 etc.   but didnt know if it pertained to this bike.

There's nothing to decode, it's just a sequential number.

Hondachopper had a useful list at one time, I printed it and hung it In the shop. I also filled in a few Showa year numbers for dating ink stamped parts.
  Example, 1969 = Showa year 44. 1970= 45 etc,
