I nearly lost a buck drag racing.
« on: November 12, 2025, 12:29:42 PM »
I took the gs1100 out to my favorite industrial road, it has limited access and 1/4 mile of 8' fence along one side, two factories, a storage unit and a railroad on the other side. At WFO throttle I looked down at the A/F meter (12.8-1) and then noticed this fellow running in the grass, right besides, apparently racing me.
He's a lot bigger than the picture appears, yikes. At least 6 points. I took 6 more pictures and missed him in every one.

No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

I did, I had to turn around in the street and go back for the photo.  I think he knows that  it's Deer season and moved to town for the duration.
I had polarizing sunglasses on and the sun was shining in the phones screen. I couldn't see much and was disappointed when I missed the shots of him running past me. I pointed at the deer so a guy going towards him in a car would see him too.

This reminded me of a similar ride where a horse appeared to be "racing" me, cool experience.  Ive ridden by a couple times since and haven't seen the horse, dont know what happened?  He was a beautiful animal.

I saw a video of a bicycle race and when the pack went past the field, the horse ran along until he got to the corner of the fence, so he jumped the fence, passed all of the bikes and raced along until he went straight and all of the bikes turned right. He looked back like HEY Guys, over here!
