Aviation Form-a-Gasket #3 ?
« on: January 10, 2026, 04:00:12 AM »
While doomscrolling on FB I came across a blurb where they used Permatex Aviation Form-a-Gasket #3 around the outer edges of some oil seals - I've always put mine in dry and had no problems but does anybody on here do that as a regular part of a rebuild...? I guess it couldn't hurt, I think they would go in easier and the sealant around the seal edges would add a little more/better 'sealing' capability - but do you guys do this?

If the bore is undamaged and the seal is installed correctly, no need for anything else.
