Go to Google Maps and select "London".

Select "Get Directions" and put "New York" in the destination box.

Scroll down the directions...

Hmm.

I must pay more attention to the Humour forum...

Where did you get this from Nick as I picked it up from the UK Sprint ST Forum and it is an exact cut-and-paste of your post (even down to the "scroll to step 23" bit which is actually step 37 from my direction:

My lead came from a motorcycle riding friend here in BC. I don't know where he found it. I also received it yesterday from a friend over there in England, so it must be making the rounds!

I received it by email a few days back. Of course it works from anywhere.

I wonder who at google thought this up?

It must have been put in partially as a joke, but probably also as a programming fix, so that errors wouldn't pop up when someone searches something dumb like driving directions from USA to GB.

Looks like some of the programmers at Google have a sense of humour (and their management were prepared to allow it through)
