It's weird how the 'unavailability' moves from area to area. It must be happening in local 'net servers. I haven't had troubles this week: last week was pretty bad.
See SOHC4shop.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

Yes, I'd say that's very likely their approach.

I think you're smart to add the 'error code' that shows up: that should help our webmaster(s) out.

Cloudflare 522 (Host Error)

A Cloudflare 522 error indicates a connection timeout, meaning Cloudflare cannot reach the origin web server to load the site. This usually happens when the origin server is overloaded, down, or actively blocking Cloudflare’s requests. Common fixes involve verifying DNS records, whitelisting Cloudflare IP addresses, and enabling KeepAlive settings.

Cloudflare Docs +4

Primary Causes of 522 Errors:

Overloaded/Offline Origin Server: The web server is down or unable to handle incoming requests, often due to high traffic.

Firewall Interference: The origin server's firewall is blocking Cloudflare’s IP addresses, preventing connection.

Incorrect DNS Settings: The IP address in the Cloudflare DNS panel does not match the actual origin server IP.

Disabled KeepAlive: The server must support KeepAlive to keep connections open for subsequent requests.

YouTube +4

Troubleshooting Steps:

Check Server Status: Verify if your origin server is running and not experiencing high CPU/load.

Whitelist Cloudflare IPs: Ensure your firewall or host is not blocking Cloudflare’s IP addresses.

Confirm DNS Settings: Validate that the A/CNAME records in your Cloudflare Dashboard accurately match the server IP.

Review KeepAlive: Ensure KeepAlive is enabled on your server, as per Cloudflare Documentation.

Disable Proxy (Temporary): Test by setting your DNS to "DNS Only" to see if the issue persists outside the Cloudflare proxy network, suggested here.

Cloudflare Docs +5

For more in-depth solutions, you can consult this guide on how to fix error 522.

Are you experiencing this on your own server, or as a visitor to a site?

If it's your site, do you have access to your server's firewall/log files?

If it's another site, have you tried clearing your browser cache/VPN?

Knowing this can help determine if the problem is at the host or in the network routing.

I still can't get on with my phone without Tapatalk which I'm not too jazzed about using. However I do seem to be able to get on from a laptop on my home wifi.

Hopefully some analysis of the error can produce a viable prevention plan.
I'm off to make a small donation to the cause.

Each time I have had problems it has been DNS related errors about not being able to find the site.  Normally if a site is overloaded you get a time-out error.  My FireFox browser continues to show the error until I clear all cached data for the site.

With that said, I haven't had any problems for the past couple of days...

So how to "clear all cached data for the site"?

If you are using FireFox just click on the "Not Secure" in the location area...  The dropdown will have an item "Clear cookies and site data..."

Yes, he is.  I started a thread in the feedback section and here is his reply...

"Apologies for the site issues the past month or so.  AI bots have been causing some significant traffic increases and I've been making some changes to mitigate the associated cost increases.  I migrated some static sites to cloudflare from aws and am enabling various protection services to have better control of the traffic.

The forums were being migrated slowly with just the domain and dns to start and then traffic would go through cloudflare.  There was an issue with the domain transfer which required it to be re-initiated this past week.

DNS was moved as part of that and there have been a few issues.  It's always DNS.

I'm trying to replicate the issue and will post something once I find and fix the root cause."
