Topic: super bike bars on a 75 CB750F SuperSport

I just replaced my stock bars with some super bike bars and now I got a speed wobble when I let go of the bars @ 30-40mph, I have took it up to 60mph with both hands on the bars and she seems ok, Why would the new bars do this?? Is it because there not weighted on the ends like the old bars?? any help would be great

I cant imagine the change of bars causing this much drama.
perhaps something else came loose during the operation?
I would go looking for other sources of the problem,and experience has shown that wobbles at the front could very well be caused by problems at the rear, like wheel bearings and things.
There that should confuse things.

The "logical fault-finding engineer" in me says put the old bars back on and see if the fault goes away.

I have all ready did that and yes it did go away, but when I put the new bars back on it was back, is there anyone else running the superbike bars? did this happen to you??

what kind of bars were you running before? Perhaps you're carrying your weight differently on the front end of the bike.

the old bars are the stock ones, I just took her out for a ride, ran her up to a 100mph and she rode fine, went by the honda shop and order some steel bar ends to add a little weight on the bars, hopefully this will work, I think I'll have the front tire balanced again aswell..

You might also look at servicing the steering stem bearings.  If they are worn, now's the time for a set of tapered roller bearings.  I'm running clubmans on one K and GP Tour's on the other with no problems but both bikes have good steering stem bearings.  Also, no bar end weights on either set.

Well, you certainly narrowed it down by replacing your new bars with the factory ones... so you know its not anything else.

Is it possible that the new bars stick out further or sit higher/lower and allow wind to catch the mirrors/clutch/brake/electrical differently?

It could also be that the new bars are light enough that they allow slight movment to reverberate... but im guessing its something else (like a windshield foiling air onto a mirror or something)

I'm thinking that the change in weight distrbution is showing up a problem somewhere. Either the extra weight on the frone wheel is showing up a bad (or in need of tightening) steering head bearings, or the slight  weight shift has shown up bad rear wheel bearings/ bad swing arm bushings, low air pressure, etc.
