Hi.
I hail from the frigid north of Mn. I JUST picked up a non running, no speedo cable having, no headlight having, back brake locking, throttle sticking, 1976 CB750 super sport. I think I got a good price on it.
I have been riding for quite some time, however, MY first bike was a 1992 Yamaha FZR600. Being young, dumb and full of, ahem, stupidity, I sold it and bought a CBR900rr during its hay day. WOW, just WOW. Not needing to hit 140MPH anymore, I sold it and went cycleless for a 1year. Never again. I then bought a 1998 Honda Shadow Aero. A couch with chrome. 3 sturgis, 10k miles, a wife and son later, I am selling it. I love it, but I need to sell it for many reasons. Since I refuse to go without again, I started looking for a "magic bullet". A bike I could buy and build cheaply and get great performance and styling out of. Found it.
A big retro thanks to all on this board. As I lurked, I knew this was my best bet. I love the performance and ridability of rockets. Being that the CBs are ultimately the predecessor to the rocket, I found my platform. The cafe's I've seen screamed style. Without sounding like I have man/bike crush on him, I gushed over ProTeal's 750. So much of what he has done where things I wanted to do before I actually saw it done on his bike. That sealed the deal. Awesome ride dude.
Inspiration for sure as well as so MANY other rides on this board.
I hope to contribute as I continue on my journey.
