Hi, folks. I'm trying really, really hard to figure out exactly what bike this seat belongs to. I've found that Ebay vintage motorcycle buyers really know their stuff, so I'm hoping you can help me. THIS SEAT IS NOT FOR SALE!I recently bought a used 1978 Goldwing GL1000. I'm familiar with just about everything on it, except the seat (which is in good condition). The seat was just sort of sitting on there, not bolted. The fellow I purchased the bike from informed me he had the seat in a storage shed and that he believed it went with the bike. It seemed slightly ill-fitting for the bike. It didn't seem to hug the tank -quite- right and it seemed like it was putting undue pressure on the rear fender. Upon turning the seat over, I saw that the mounting points didn't *seem* to fit the frame. But what do I know? I noticed that the mounting points on the underside of the seat pan were different - that is to say the distanced between the mounting bolts was different on each side of the seat. Looking at it, I now believe this seat fits on a 1970s CB line, perhaps 550 or 750. The mounting bolts are for a seat latch and seat hinge.I've included bunches of photos. The seat is an aftermarket one, with a "Travelcade" tag attached to it. Incidentally, I've never seen a seat with such an almost freakishly high rear end. Take a look at the photos.I probably spent an hour looking on Ebay and online at seats and seat bottoms, and the seat doesn't look exactly like any other seat I can find. Is this a Honda CB seat? And for which kind and year?Thank you,Erik
I especially like the view of the seat from the back....man that thing is as wide as the girl I lost my virginity to in High School!!!Dennis
