New memer from Ontario Canada 1977 cb550F
« on: April 15, 2007, 10:21:16 AM »
Hey all,
I just became the proud owner of a 1977 Honda CB550f Super Sport with only 7500 miles on it!
I'll post a pic soon.
I'm in the midst of getting insurance and plates and plan on riding the old girl this week.
I need a repair manual.Does anyone here have a used 1 they would like to part with?

The bike idles at around 800-900 rpm and feels like she wants to stall.
I have'nt had a bike for 10 years and am a little rusty(a lot actually) on making adjustments.
Anybody tell me how to adjust and where the idle set screw(s) are on these old units.?

Thanks,I'm looking forward to a summer of riding and hanging around this website.

welcome Jim,
you can get a new honda factory manual for your 550 SS from www.repairmanual.com for $37.30USD.
I got one for my 750K4 and it is the best! dont bother with haynes or clymer.

cheers!

The handle comes from:
I play some guitar and sing and was in a band that we used to change the name every time we played at this local pub here in Woodstock.1 night we called ourselves Otis Campbell and the Carolina Moonshiners and the Otis just kinda stuck. We also called the band Woodpile. Its a slang name we have for our city of Woodstock. That is where the handle comes from.
