CB360 Vs. CB350...

What are the more important differences between the two? I see a lot of the obvious ones, but I think there are many that I'm missing. But one particular question, are the carbs the same that come on both? They look almost identical...

EDIT: While looking through some CB360 parts, the bottom ends look almost identical...what gives? Did Honda just slap some oversized jugs on the thing and call it a 360?

I had a 360 in a 3-wheeler I built a while back.--good strong motor.
I think the major difference is the 6 speed in the 360.

The 360 motor is basically an enlarged 350 motor. The head is different and the tranny is 6 speed. You are getting about 30cc more engine than the 350. Isn't that strange? The carbs are slightly larger but basically the same design. There may be more vibration to the engine. It's an evolutionary design. The 350 is said to be an evolution of the 305, but they seem quite a bit different to me. :)

Can you put a 350 engine into a 360 frame? Seeing as how the cases look very similar? Seems like there are FAR more parts for the 350 engine, as far as performance goes, than the 360...and I have a spare 350 engine that would LOVE to get some high compression pistons and a nasty cam...

           Hey Kyle,
                   I was always puzzled about the 350 basically replacing the 305 myself. Nothing against the 350, but (as you know) it's a totally different motor than the 305. Always had a soft spot for the 250/305 motors. ;) I'd sure like to be able to feel the performance of a 305 boosted up to a 350 w/ one of those Powroll kits (or something similar) myself. Not intending to hijack the 360 Vs 350 thing so I'll go. ::)

It seems to me that the motor mounts are simillar, although I can't get a good pic of the top mount.Since I've seen a CB350f motor in a CB77, I'd say that putting a 350t in a 360 would be easier than that. Go for it!

Yeah the 360 top end has a head similar to a SOHC4, as apposed to the CB350 twin. So I would assume the mount is different. But being as the mounts are simply plate steel, I'm sure I could make something work....evil thoughts....

the 360 lower frame rails are equal height, Where the 350 has the right rail lower!  Don't know for sure about the top side frame differences.  also the 350 has an access plate for the oil filter and the 36- needs to have the clutch cover removed to get to it.

These are some of the diferences. As I've heard the 360 came about for emissions issues.

I've also heard that the 360 had problems with the cam chain tensioners and it's virtually impossible to find an aftermarket replacement. The sleeves are bigger, allowing for a larger oversize bore than the 350 had. Generally the 350 had more power and was better geared than the 360 (even with the 360's extra gear). Overall the 350 was a "better" bike than the 350 unless you have unlimited funds to build a hotrod twin.

You can fit a 350 into a 360 frame but not the other way round. 360 motor is taller and slightly wider, wont go into a 350 frame ( I already tried)
360 has totally different cylinder head and oil pump set up to 350, hell its a  different motor. Not sure about transmission ( if it will swap into 350) as Honda frequently went through the parts bin to make somewthing 'new'
In my opinion its a waste of time as the spread between gears isn't very good.
360 has cam oiling issues which can be overcome by some minor machine work (after a full engine strip ::))
Even with all its faults, I like them and have 4, unfortunately without titles ( didn't know what was involved getting bikes titled in USA :( :()
