Rejet for drop-in K&N and stock 4-2 exhaust required?
« on: April 23, 2007, 12:09:26 PM »
'79 CB650:

I ordered a K&N air filter (not pods).  I have the stock 4-2 exhaust and stock jetting, but plan to swap to a Marshall Deeptone 4-1 in the near future.  Anyone know if rejetting is required?

With the stock pipes, you shouldn't have to re-jet, but you may need to adjust the idle mix a little.

Your stock jetting will be just fine.  If you plan on getting a freer-flowing aftermarket set-up, consider jetting up 2.5 to 5, depending on the exhaust.
