yet another cable question
« on: April 22, 2007, 08:21:07 PM »
hey kids. I yanked my US spec near "ape hangers" off my k6 in favor of some 3" rise daytonas. I did my homework and found that Euro CB750 F1 clutch and throttle cables should work for this application. Cycle re-cycle advertises CB750f 77-78, and 79-82 cables at a great price. Does anyone know if these will jive with the daytonas on my bike? thanks

Have you checked the motion pro web site they may be cheaper and you can get cables made to spec if you wish.

I have cables from CRC on my bike, no problems with length.  Are your bars similar to these in physical dimension?  Sorry, this pic is an odd angle and it's too dark to get a good one right now.

My brand new motion pro clutch cable just snapped today. I only had it for two months... not impressed with the quality.

More specifically, is a f1 any Cb750f? I'm unfamiliar with these bikes. People on this forum have claimed success using F1 cables with 750ks sporting daytonas. I would rather just buy pre-made cables than pay extra for three to be shortened.

Was it routed correctly (or at least the same way the old one was when you removed it)?  Do you have any unusual requirements (clips-ons, drag bars, clubmans, ape-hangers)?  High performance clutch springs or anything?
