hi there!
« on: April 23, 2007, 10:46:47 AM »
hi all - my name is frank and i'm very happy to have found this site.  i'm looking forward to getting lots of information and making new friends, especially in my area south of boston.  i was lucky enough to purchase a mint condition 72' cb 750 from a good friend of mine and i am learning how to ride it.  (gotta take one of those classes soon!).   i did do some riding on this bike but unfortunately hit some sand and dropped the bike so it's no longer 'mint', which upsets me no end, lemme tell ya.  but it's close.  it needs a few bits and a small dent removed from the gas tank.  as i've cruised the internet for parts, i've come to find just how special this bike really is and want to do right by it.  i'm hoping ya'll can help me with sources for nos parts and a few odds and ends about bike maintenance.  looking forward to chatting with ya'll and hopefully go for a ride occasionallly (if you can stand a beginner)

Welcome Frank!
There are a few of us in Boston with CB750s (I have a K2 and K4 - both not mint :-)). We are all over - Norwood, Framingham, Brighton, Ashland, Gloucester etc - see here:

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/bostonareasohc4riders/

We do have some spares between us but all depends on what you are looking for (see FAQ in Forum for places that supply NOS - also Bettencourts will order for you). Steve in Ashland runs this site and has a place to work on bikes in Ashland:

www.hondarestoration.com

We meet usually once a month if not more for beers, chat and will be riding as well so let me know if you want to join us or look out on the EVENTS board.

cheers
Andy

P.S. Johnny is also a great guy!

outstanding! thanks so much guys.   i've already been cruising through the links and found some parts dealers but am thrilled to find someone local that i can start to work with.  my next posts will probably be in the tech forum for specific questions.  thanks again!
