Topic: where is the key code on the helmet lock or ignition

need to find the key code for a locksmith when  I get home today...where can I find the key code the easiest can I see it on the helmet lock without taking it off or on the ignition without taking it off...if I have to take it off no big deal just would be a lot easier if I knew where to look for it....thanks.

I think on the 650 its hidden, easiest would be seat/helmet lock

do you have to take the seat helmet lock...I am going to start this process as soon as i get home.

Here's the helmet lock for a CB750K.  This number can be used to get a key.  Obviously you need to take the lock off to get to this number.

That is the key number.  I'm not sure who told you, but I've successfully gotten keys with that num.

gammaflat you the man went back into the locksmith today with the key code and you are correct the last three numbers on the back there...so your 219....mine was 109 are the correct key code and I had the lock there to test it....and then they tried to charge me ...and I said no way you charged me 25.oo bucks for the first key and I gave him all the codes and he picked the b49...which is a legit key code and an unlucky quiescent for me.

so to recap take off your helmet lock get the last three digits from the code...call the locksmith and badabing...25 beans later a key with extra keys only costing 3.00....well that the story maybe it will help someone along the way thanks guys.
