Is there supposed to be oil here? Oil leak CB750
« on: September 28, 2007, 08:41:48 AM »
Last week a caged retard knocked my bike over on the left side and made a crack in the alternator cover. This has resulted in an oil leak. Is there really supposed to be oil behind the alternator cover or can this be a bad crank-seal leaking oil onto the alternator ??? Posting some pictures of the cover:

The crack is covered up by the tape...

There is oil in the alternator case on the 750. All you need to be right is a non-damaged case and a gasket.

Thanks for the replies!
Nice to know that there isn't something more serious.
The man who knocked the bike over has already paid me $$ so he's safe ;D
