Hey guys I was wondering if anybody out there knows the best way to run throttle cable with clubman bars, I installed my bar last year
in september ,but I did not get a chance to ride  to feel out the handle bars, because no insurance and no plates.  So finally I took the bike  for a ride yesterday to get new front tire change ,and after the bike was warm with the choke down , everytime I would stop at a light, the bike would stayed reved at 2 to 3000 rpm I know that it is binding, you see when I changed the handle bars from stock to
clubman I did not change position of the throttle cable , I just installed and that was it . I also notice that throttle is sticky not retuning
down fast enough. Can somebody tell me how to adjust ,do i have to take cable off , how is the best way to grease the inside of the cable , do I have to take gas tank off to get to where cable is connceted, ect.... Im a newbie here please help..

If you guys have pics with the front of your bike with clubman bars please send I just want to get and Idea. I also visited Carpy's web
but most of he's pictures are in a angle hard to tell how he's runnig he's cables Thanks Raul From Floral Park Long Island N.Y.C.

I ran them around the front just underneath the headlight.

Yes, but it was rather easy, as I did it when mounting the bars to the bike.

Are you using the stock controls or aftermarket controls?

The reason I ask is that I had to get creative on my bike running clip-ons. I'm not using the stock controls so what I did might or might not work on your bike.

Hey KB02 Thanks for for the fast reply, Yes Im using stock throttle and cable the olny thing that I changed was the hand grips. Any way
I took off the front head light today , and disconneced the brake caliper hose that connects to brake lever, also the clutch cable ]and RPM cable and
routed them different , and I purchased cable kit and cable lude and lubed the hell out of the throttle cable housing and , what do you know
I think it's working alot better the thottle snaps back into place thanks to all of you. :) I will test drive later tonight and will post proggres.

I'd ditch the return "push" throttle cable.  As long as the pull cable is smooth, you'll never need it.   The return spring is PLENTY strong enough to close the carbs on it's own.

Here's a quick pic of my bike with the after market controls. Instead of going down with the cables, I went up.

I too went under the headlight but I also pulled the gas tank and moved them to the right side of the frame.  Don't know if that helped or not but I haven't had any binding,etc.. with the clip-ons.

It helps if you rotate the housing so the cables face foward a bit more.
Getting clubman bars, 3 cables, master cylinder, 3 hoses, hose junction, 3 fairing frame mounts, gazillion wires, a 1/2 fairing, throttle housing, throttle, mirrors, etc to all work safely and effectively in unison can be quite a challenge requiring ingenuity, cleverness plus a hammer and a hacksaw.....

Whichever way works best for you, the main thing is to make sure the cables run in the longest, smoothest arc possible, no sharp turns or kinks. Also make sure they aren't getting pulled when the bars are turned full lock.

Off topic- 736, I love that seat. Did you do that yourself??

Its an unknown 70's era tail that came on the scooter. I had it re-upholstered. Very comfy and tons of handy storage.
