Since the weather has been so nice

Any members that would like to take the trouble to come to Brussels (Diegem town square to be exact). For a beer, and a ride. or just a beer.

Since you have like 200 beers there, it would take all day to choose and another day or two to drink one of each. I used to go to LaHulpe on business  ;D

I thought of you the other day Johnny when I was trying my bottle of Chimay. ;D

It was nice but you can't drink it all because of the sediment in the bottom of the bottle >:(

That's called the Lees, and it's the best part of a bottle conditioned ale!  When you get about 3/4 of the way through the bottle, give it a gentle swirl, pour into your favourite (just for the Brits  ;)) glass, and enjoy! :D

I wish.... But -
1.my old company calls me for a month on the ship, and
2. Belgium is at the moment tad too far from me (bout 2000kms)

But I must share this - just been on a Yamaha Virago meet (my wife's riding virago) and I was very nicely surprised at the amount of positive comments and appreciative looks my Honda got... :) There's nothing like classic.....
Welcome to my mountains!

The correct Belgian term is 'The fond'
There are 3 ways of dealing with the fond.

1. Pour the beer gently in the glass and leave the fond in the bolltle
2. Pour 3/4 of the beer in the glass give the botle a little shake and pour the rest in the glass (that is how I prefer it)
3. Pour the fond in a seperate glass and consume it before or after the beer.

On method nr3 make shure you know the way to the toilet  ;D

Well not Belgian but Dutch and from Limburg as well so pretty close.
Unfortunately my cb is not ready yet and my other daily work bike is in the shop....
So I'll have to take a rain check on going out to ride love the beertesting idea though ;D. I'll pop one open right now.
