My 75 CB750 and "The Fuzz!"
« on: April 23, 2007, 09:35:16 AM »
Yesterday was a beautiful day here in Georgia so I went out for a little ride. It was pushing 80 degrees and the sky was clear. I jumped on the highway and headed north out of Canton, GA. It is nothing but wide open highways for miles. I was totally in cruising zone when I saw a blue car come barreling up on my tail. I looked down at my speedo and I was doing 85-90 MPH. I immediately roll off the throttle a bit. I looked again in my mirror and it is in fact a Georgia State Patrol (GSP) car on my tail. He had not turned on his lights yet so I keep on going. After a few seconds he changes lanes and pulls up next to me. I quickly look over at him and he gives me a head nod and a thumbs up. I returned the thumbs up. He then slowed down and pulled off the next exit.

Any of the other Georgia boys here happen to be GSP???

Maybe the officer after noticing you immediately slowed instead of trying to run and then noticed you were on a vintage bike showed his respect by not pulling you over.  A lot of officers ride and know the thrill and the dangers, but more importantly appreciate bikes rather than lothe them as the dreaded enemy... as some also do.

Cool story Rocker, wonder if he rides and what. Might be that he's always wanted a SOHC4 of his own and admired yours. ;) Don't guess it really matters though, the main thing is that you didn't get a ticket. ;) 8)

I had the same thing happen to me once on a cb550 in New Orleans a few years ago. And I didn't even have a lic. plate on the bike! Same thing though, chased me down but once he caught up and saw what I was riding, just geve a thubs up and kept on going.
