Does anyone know a somewhat easy way to lessen the turning radius on my handlebars. It's on a '72 CB750.

I can't think of a secure way to clamp something on the stop, but drilling and tapping the stop may be possible. It's not very big though, so I could probably only fit a smallish machine screw in it. Thanks for the idea, I'll take a look at it again and see if its feasible.

i just use my welder and tack a bead on the stop , if you do too much hit it with a file , problem solved

That's what I did with my bike, Drilling the hole and tapping it was fairly easy. actually getting that little screw to thread in was a pain in the a$$.   

One thing to keep in mind: If you do this, it will effective make your handlebar lock not work unless you adjust the tab for the lock. Just FYI.

Slip a small piece of rubber hose over the steering stop, that works well.

 I JB Welded two 3/16"  shaped steel pucks to the stops to prevent the fat non-stock fork ear tubes from hitting the tank. When the stock ears went on, the pucks were easily removed with a cold chisel and hammer.

Even easier is to get the small chrome clamps (plumbing ones from any hardware store), slip them over the steering stop and viola - no more bars hitting the tank! Works for me on CB750K2 with cafe bars.

Do this.  works perfect for my clip-ons.  They were the smallest hose clamps the hardware store had.

Mine's an F0 so this might not mean anything but I just adjusted the angle of the bars until they just barely cleared the tank.  They're about flat if you look from the front.  The F tank might be skinnier at the front though and it's real close on mine.

i've done this with a small bolt slipped in the stop side to further decrease the radius.

Thanks Andy and Chris for the hose clamp idea! I don't have access to a welder so this is just the kind of recommendation I needed. I'll try it tomorrow to see if it solves the problem. Thanks to everybody for your advice, I knew you guys could help.
