Newbie 76 750F cafe
« on: April 26, 2007, 09:15:05 AM »
Hello All,
Just a short intro to myself...I own a 76 750F put together in the cafe racer fashion.  I've been riding it now for 4 years and I'm glad to have found this forum.  I'm originally from Los Angeles, CA but I'm currently deployed overseas in Germany.  No worries, I'll be back home in the SoCal sun Aug. 2009.  Before I left I had the opportunity to exchange greetings with Carpy in the OC and a few of the guys from the Ton-Up Club through emails so I'm anxious to get back and start ridin'.  If there's anyone in Germany that wants to get together or if anyone needs a Honorary member to there club out in Europe for the next couple of years hit me up....
Rock On,
John

Greetings John, from one 76 750F owner to another. Do you have something to ride while on your deployment?

Prost!

Thanks for the warm welcome!!
andy750-  Thanks for the info...I emailed Axl today in to get his location.

kuyarico-  I'm diggin' the 750 & 550...are you gonna cafe the SS also?  And yes, I brought my scoot with me...I always wanted to say I rode on the Autobahn!!

Ed-  I'll be posting pics soon...being from California I never had to "winterize" my scoot so when I got here in Jan 06 my horse just sat in 3 ft (or is it 1 m?) of snow and ALOT of parts got ruined.  I found storage for it indoors and it is currently on bed rest until I can replace the chain, sprockets, brake calipers, oil filter bolt, blah blah blah.  She should be back on the blacktop by Jun...just in time to ride for a couple months and head out to OktoberFest.

Thanks to all for your comments-  It's an honor to serve for guys like you no matter what conflict we might be in.
Godspeed,
John

hey John,
I rode the autobahn on my CB750K4 and hopefully you will soon know that feeling - its like riding a 500lb missile pushing it as far as it will go and trying not to fall off the back (I have no fairing which at 100mph+ is interesting!), and knowing you have pretty crap brakes...it takes a long time stopping so be careful!! And when you overtake make sure you look for a long time over your shoulder or in the mirror as the german cars travel at 120mph+ and they come up pretty fast on CB750s!

Have fun and ride safe! (and say hello to Axl for me when you see him!)
cheers
Andy

I'm going to keep the 750 as is for the most part. It's better for my 30 mile commute or when I need to ride 2 up. Good to hear that you brought your scoot. You can legally hit the ton out there! Be safe man.

As of now you are member of the Euro-chaper. Care to join our yearly meet (The WER, West Europe Ride).
Axl and I are organising and we have never missed it.

PS. As long as you bring decent beer you can show up on any bike you like :)
