How to Remove the Emulsion tubes from Carbs

Ok....I tried search and see a lot of talk about how they need to be cleaned but one question.......how best to remove them?

The way I knocked the tubes out was to spray down the tube from the top and bottom with carb cleaner to try to dislodge any crud, take the slides/needles out of the topside of the carb and you can tap it out with a small punch and a small dead-blow hammer.  They should drop right out.

Usually, if they need cleaning, they will not simply drop out.  Find a soft dowel, hardwood, nylon, brass, etc. and tap them out from where the slide needle inserts.  They come out the same hole the main jet rests in.  Remember, you are tapping on the needle orifice and any distortions in that will effect fuel metering.

Thx Guys,

I am still running rich on 3 cylinders so I will look at these tubes as the possible culprit.

+ I just luv pulling the carbs....hehe...... ;)
