Do i Need Sealent

I'll be fitting a new oil pan on my cb750 on monday
is it generally recomended to put somekind of sealer on with the gasket or just fit the gasket dry

When I replaced mine, I used the gasket dry, no problems now and it's 3 yrs and almost 3,000 miles. Just make sure the surfaces are clean.

I used gasket sealant and when torquing it squeezed out the gasket from around the bolts, maybe I didn't let it dry enough.

Anyhow, if I had a second gasket I'd put it on dry. Since I don't I'll use threebond instead.
