How are yours?
My neighbors are nice. They have never complained about all the bikes I have in the yard
nor about the noise I make at 3am starting my bike to go to work.
peace,
michel

I believe I'm particularly blessed in that respect :)

We live in a quiet little cul de sac, with the following:

My next door neighbour to the left has a pair of series II Land Rovers that he's always tinkering with, one totally stock, and one with a thundering great V8 in it ;D
The neighbour to the right is heavily into motorcrossing and has a brace of single cylinder Hondas :)
The guy directly across the road has an unlimited class grass-track racer with two Suzuki GSX1000R engines in it :o
The old guy at the end of the road has over 20 complete motorbikes of all ages and types in his garage and half as many again in various states of completion 8)

With just my lowly 550K and a mere 3 cars, I often feel I've some catching up to do ::)

As you can imagine, we do tends to have some very interesting (usually beer fuelled) conversations whilst stood around which ever vehicle is feeling in need of the attention ;D Although our respective wives would probably beg to differ ::) ;)

Mine seem to be pretty cool.  My garage is on the back of the lot next to the alley, and the guy directly across runs his own car detailing business from his driveway.  He's always out there playing music and running his buffer, so I don't feel bad at all playing my music and revving the various bike engines.  Most of my neighborhood is fairly young, active families, who don't seem to mind the occasional WOT run down the street, but I try to be a good neighbor and keep my noisemaking to mid-day hours.

My neighbors have kids noisier than my bikes. I have one newer neighbor that has some crotch rocket sportbike that I haven't yet identified. He likes to blast down our street on weekend nights. Why he wants to do this where his neighbors are sleeping is a good question.

Living in a condo townhouse complex means that things are more 'intimate' than most. One side is rental. No problems. The other side is 'owned'; he thinks that it is acceptable to vibrate the pictures off the wall at 4am on a Thursday morning! We've had words.......

If I'm riding a noisy bike I always take it down to the parking area away from the housing before I start it, since noise is the one form of pollution I will not stand for, and do not see why it should be inflicted by me on my neighbours

My neighbors are cool, but I don't give them anything to complain about.  I ride quietly and moderately down the street.  I would like to lay down some spike strips for the middle aged a-hole Harley rider that lives in the cul-de-sac behind us.  He deems it necessary to blast down the street at 50+ with his annoying and very cliche open piped Road King.  This is the same guy that complains about everything to the neigborhood association.....

Since I've lived here so long and it's well known that I have machines,  anytime a loud bike goes by at night
it is assumed by the neighbors that it is me (I).

Our neighbors are spaced out a bit futher apart than most,
but several drag racers live near by.

One can hear a Chevy Nova with a big block,
Mustang with I ain't sure what (never been a Ford man),
Corvette, the sons,
my Fiat which sounds like a big block 750 Honda,
or the 750 Honda with the kerker :)

all this on any given day and sometimes all together ;D

1/4 mile up the road...don't bother each other much at all.
A good bike mechanic only needs two tools, WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but should, use the WD40. If it does move but shouldn't use the duct tape.

You would hate me then.  I try to keep it quite, but it is difficult.

We're all rednecks out here, so nobody really cares what goes on.  I have folks shooting shotguns all hours, jerkoffs blasting down the road 90 to nothing, and my closest neighboring property is a rental that hasn't kept the same tenants more than 6-8 months (I wonder why) ;D

Our is the only house on the street with a light on after 8:30PM. I,ve never seen anything like it... Only lights that are on are the street lights. The neighbor that I used to have fights with hasn't been any trouble ever since he decided to get a sprint car with a bike motor in it. Now hes finally moving. :D
