750F2 Rear Brake Lever
« on: April 30, 2007, 01:16:12 PM »
Have an opportunity to acquire a correct rear brake lever for my "F" - the one on it at the moment is way too short... problem is there are 4 to choose from and whilst I have a bit of a clue from looking at various pics of brake levers on photos of F's in the forum gallery it would be good to get some dimensions... could fellow F2 owners confirm/provide measurements of the aforementioned stock lever and identify the correct one in the picture below please? (If indeed it is shown  - having never seen one in the "flesh" I wouldn't know - I think it might be the 2nd one from the left.  ;))

Cheers, Phil

Not sure if it helps or not, but none of those look like the one on my parts 76 F.

the 2nd from left is most similar, mine has a double bend in it right where it goes under the peg

from the pivot at the frame it goes about 6 inches, bends down and to the right, then about two inches it it bends up and to the left, crossing right under the pivot point on the peg.

If you need actual measurements or pics, I'll send them.

Ken.

edit: just realized this was regarding a potential on-board sale....

The second one from the left looks like mine... I will run out to the garage and check my F3... BYB.

I have 12-3/8" from the tip of the toe pad to the center of the mount.

Thanks Ken - at least I know what any of those levers are not!  ;)

Many thanks Scott, I'll pass that info on to the seller, so I can get the correct lever.

Thought the 76/77 was more similar, didn't realize how many odd little changes honda had made in the things till I started looking!

2nd from the left looks the same as the F3, with the 'missing'  inside edge of the pad, but mine measures 12" from centre of shaft to the front tip of the pad.

Hmmm - I will see what measurements the vendor comes back to me with... I'm sure it will be fine, as the lever on the bike at the moment is a mere 10" so a 12" or 12 3/8" lever is gonna be a vast improvement!!   :o

Thanks again for all your help guys.
