I found a Treasure NOW WITH PICS!!!! (Not SOC But you will Like)
« on: November 08, 2007, 06:51:49 AM »
So my Media Blasting guy comes into my resturaunt on Monday night as he always does and orders his usual slice of pepperoni and a coke.  About half way through his meal he gets up and come up to me at the bar and asks if I am in the market for another bike.  I said what kind and how much?   He said it was an 82 CB750F Supersport with only 2,306 original miles on it he got in a trade for some work he had done.  He only wanted $1000 for it. I told him that I wasn't in the market but I had a friend that would take it.  Called my buddy and he jumped on it.  We went to look at it yesterday and man what a Gem.  It still has the stickers on the Tach and Speedo that you are suposed to take off.  I take some pice this weekend when we pick it up.  I really think all its going to need is a tank cleaning, carb cleaning and some TLC.  I'll keep you updated.  New project, Just wish I had the $1000 and it would have been mine.  But atleast I get to ride it.................Chris

Excellent. I can't say I'm fond of the tie down across the seat. :o

+1. It is maybe the best way to tear the vynyl even during a short trip.

Nice bike mate, but yeah, watch that tie down process, a new seat might cost you another grand nowadays, if you can find one................... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I had an 85 mph speedo on a Kaw and it had a peg to stop the needle from going past 85.  Sure enough, I never got above 85 on that bike.

Gotcha ya. If you have it recovered and want something special and well executed I'd recommend Sargent's...I have 2 seats they have done (including a Corbin) and they are mint. The "Atomic" foam is great too.

Have you got any pics Sammy? I've got a seat with a big split down the middle, and the foam has a severe dandruff problem. ;D
