CB750 K1 seat latch question
« on: April 30, 2007, 05:46:45 PM »
The project bike I'm working on came disassembled.... and I'm not sure how the seat latch assembly goes on the bike -

Looking at the parts diagram - http://houseofmotorcycles.bikebandit.com/partsbandit/assets/schematics/Honda/HJ0906W0036043.gif

The seat I have (its off being re-covered) had all of the latch hardware on it, so I'm covered and Part #6 came with the box of parts - but not #12, conveniently discontinued.

I also ran across this on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=290110163374&rd=1&rd=1

Says its for a '69-70... but the parts diagram on bikebandit *looks* the same between '69 and '71 - although the part #'s are different for part #6 in the above diagram....

Can anyone solve this mystery, snap a picture of how its *supposed* to look? :)

The K0 and K1 seat latches are same except K1 has a scissor type latch that was added on for a more positive catch operation. K1 also has a spring added to seat base to pop the seat up when releasing the catch. The item on ebay same for both models. The only difference w/ the bases is the added screw hole for the K1 pop-up spring

Yep, my seat has those - the latch assy on ebay, I cant tell if its different than the one I have (same as the parts diagram).  Do I need that metal hook?  I also ass-u-me I dont need a key to open the seat latch...

Thanks :)

I think i'm going to try to grab that latch off of ebay - it looks complete, shouldnt have any issues.
