« on: May 03, 2007, 03:54:19 PM »
i did not order the kit to rebuild yet, hope i can reuse everything, can all the parts even the gasket and o-ring be reused.  i did notice that the bike came with some crudy k&n pods.  is there a certian size jet needed with the pods and are the k&n's reusable if so how do i clean all the soot out of them.  thanks again.  oh the carbs are off a 71 cb750

Depends on how old they are and how long the carbs have been sitting unused.

There is no shortage of previous threads regarding pod filters and the subsequent re-jetting.  There is also no shortage of differing opinions on their benefits/faults and how to adjust the carbs for their use.

do a search to answer the pod/jetting issue.  You probably will come out more unsure than when you started. :)

Cleaning the pods may depend on how old and crudded up they are.  When they're new, they are meant to be cleaned with a spray and rinsed.  Then they get reoiled with filter oil.  I use a K&N type filter in my stock airbox, and clean and reoil it with each oil change.  You local bike shop probably has the stuff.
