CB750 K1 wiring
« on: May 01, 2007, 01:37:21 PM »
Hey everyone,  I have a 1971 CB750. Everything works great but I was thinking about updating the wiring. I was going to build a new main harness and use auto style weather pack connectors for all the connections instead of the single bullet style ones. My question is: how should I handle the wires on the "other" end, that go into the accessories, alternator etc . . . splice into the old wires or solder new wires in place.  Hmmm . . . I'm going to convert to electronic ignition also maybe new coils?   what do you guys think?  Or since it works fine as it is, just leave it alone?

Just my opinion of course, but I subscribe to if it ain't broke don't fix it. The original bullet connectors, if in good shape and clean are fine. If not clean, that might be worth a few minutes of your time and a small dab of dielectric grease before shoving them together will insure them being weather proof.
