Hello from the South, North Carolina.
« on: May 01, 2007, 06:53:17 PM »
Hello there.

About me:  I'm 22, live in the Triad of NC and as most of you I am a gear head.  I build and collect vintage bmws and I am apart of Vcca and BMWcca.  I am currently building a '78 cb750 which I picked up a little over a week ago.  The frame wont see paint till the winter but in the mean time I should have a good 60% of the bike restored by the end of May.  Everything from new bars, levers, switches, harness, fuse block/tray combo, seat and so on.  Paint will be shot on the tank/seat and maybe the side panels if I dont decide to go with a naked bike theme.  Anyways, I figured Id drop in and say hi!!!

Well it looks like our paths have crossed sometime or another.  For starters, my dad served 30 years in the Marine Corps and subsequently I grew up in Jacksonville.  He had a 3yr detail in greensboro commanding reservists and fixing problems so I ended up permanently here in Greensboro.  A company I worked for would doing race components and composites would often steal employees from Timco.  Im far to familiar with both aspects youve mentioned.  As far as parts go, I need a lot of stuff unfortunately.  Ive spent a lot of money this week buying parts for the bike.  I've managed to buy switch caps, switch housing, master cylinder(x2) and 2 levers from a 11/16th harley fitting 7/8th bars, twist throttle with grips, new wiring harness and fuse box/battery try and some other items.  I d like to find a 4-2 or even just a 4-4 header, though I can make one I'd prefer to just buy one right now.  PM me with stuff you have.  I'm just looking for everything, i might even need a new set of carbs...mine look bad.
