Must be free drag bike season....
« on: May 05, 2007, 02:42:06 PM »
My roomate just scored a frame from a former 9 second Harley drag bike. Came with all the fiberglass body work and engine plates along with the rear end mounts...not much else unfortunitly..however with the right tapered bearings the front end from his old GS750 will work on the frame..looks like it may require spacers up at the top though..not sure yet. Now the thing is he wants to fit a Japanese engine into it to replace the Harley...more specifically hes seeking out an SOHC engine. Does anyone know of any wrecked CBs that would work for donors for this beast?

Forget what i said about looking for a donor. I made a trade for my K4 for my roomates 84 Interceptor as a parts bike for my 85. So for the moment im CBless. Now the question is..anyone know of any complete CB750s?

a,make sure its a big twin frame,if its a sportster frame forget it.if it is a big twin frame you will have to cut out the seat post tube and move it back.good luck and good score.

It was a professionally built frame. Pretty much universal for what ever engine you wish to install in it. its wide enough that it required a jackshaft for the twin. From the looks of it so far the SOHC engine is the perfect width to run without a jackshaft.
