I have some larger work done... I can never figure out why it's such a big deal. Minneapolis is very tattoo friendly, though. I've been some other places around the world where it's an issue, well, and some parts of the US as well. I guess I always figured if it was your thing it was if it wasn't..it wasn't. I spent 4 years of my life studying art history, so I guess I had ink on the brain and probably always will. I don't think I will even have much of an issue when I get to the point to teach. A good friend of mine is heavily tattooed- not his neck or face- but he teaches high school with no problems.

I think you can enjoy the artform without going over the top.....and if you work in a 'sensitive' environment you make sure that the tats are discreet, or covered by clothing.

Half the fun is showing them to an unsuspecting onlooker.....hopefully of the opposite sex!!

Mine doesn't outwardly say "MOTORCYCLE" but ask me about it (if you actually see it) and there's no doubt.
Got this after putting the 550 down with my brother on the back.  Few months of physical therapy to put my arm over my head again and I got my armor plating put on permanent.

Unlike Heffay, my straps go all the way around so they can hold it in place ;D

I have one tattoo, although it isn't motorcycle-related.  It's the schematic symbol for a triode (kind of vacuum tube, for those of you who aren't electronically inclined).  Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of it to share right now.

I've tattooed a lot of teachers, a few with fairly large pieces...They have no issues...A handful of my high school teachers had tattoos...If you would be teaching in a school where it would be a problem, I'd assume they would have you in a suit or at least long sleeves anyway..
