I am Terry From Quispamsis NB. Canada
« on: May 07, 2007, 05:01:19 PM »
I am terry From Quispamsis NB Canada. I have been riding bikes since 1975, my first bike being a 1947 Royal Infield. With a side cart. And being young and stupid I sold it about 2 years later to get money to spend on dates. ,,,,,Should have kept the bike. Lol. I currently have a 79 CB650 with the entire silver wing package hanging off it . I am a professional sailor on a Deep sea rescue and salvage tug boat and when not involved with salvages or rescues we tow barges with just about everything on them (other tugs to oil rigs and ships) In this last year we have towed a rig from Galveston TX. To Singapore and from Singapore to Florida via Shanghai China Hawaii, Panama canal I work away for any were from 3 months to 6 months and get the same home for leave  (work 3 months off 3 months, with pay) 6-6. So I enjoy riding my bike. This weekend I am heading to Halifax to pick up a 1980 1100 GoldWing, that had the bottom of the engine cracked when the P. owner went off the road and hit a rock. He just wanted to get rid of it so I got it real cheap. And I have a re-built 1100 engine sitting here to go into it. I will still keep the CB650 But I will remove the faring and saddle bags and trunk and ride it like it was before. Of all the bikes I have had over the years The 650 is the best even though it is getting on my nerves and testing my patience with a problem over the last 2 years … I will post that problem in the right form as it will be rather long. I have read quite a few of the form here and I believe it should answer a lot  of the mystery I am having .  ???

Hello!
I saw an '81 1100 at an estate sale last fall but figured it would go for a lot so I didn't pay any attention to it. It sold for $500!
If it's worth doing at all it's worth over-doing.

This one was on the net for sale ,for about a hour when i seen it . It was custom painted last year and is a great looking bike ,i figured i would have to sell one of my kids to afford it (we Have 8 kids ) only one home now ( Did i mention i love being away sailing ;D ). I emailed him and he only wanted $600 Canadian just to get rid of it. even with the engine damage it was worth about 2G I bought it and was able to get a re-built engine the next day for $700 so I grabbed it.

Welcome to the clan.

The wife has an Uncle that does the 3 and 3 or the 6 in 6, out of Halifax.  I don't think I could handle being home for 3 whole months, the kids drive me nuts after a week. :D

Thank you. I believe this is the best resource for bikes i ever came across.
I said in my intro that i am a sailor on tugs that travels everywere in the world .  here are 2 links to were i have posted 2 vids of my last trip from TX. to Singapore . this is heading to Cape Town SA and heading out into the Indian Ocean from C.T. beating across the currents there.  (take sea sick pills first before watching . ) not the worst weather i have been in in 32 years sailing but we did roll around some.

Looks like quite the coster ;D  The one and only time I've been sea-sick it was a "Dead calm", water was like glass. :-X
