Keep your honda boys,
« on: May 09, 2007, 06:07:37 PM »
Rode over to a neighbors today and he insisted I take his 77 R100S or something like that.
The 1000 BMW with the Cafe Fairing anyway. A really nice bike, but, the transmission shifts clucky,
and the powerband is weird. On the plus side, it handles real nice and feels really light though
I'm sure it weighs as much as the 750.
But when all was said and done, I was glad to get back on the 750.

The BMW's trans has always been a clunker.  I've owned a few and they're truly great bikes.  I had an R75 a few years ago.  It was so smooth but someone offered me more than I thought it worth so I sold it and bought a '78 Guzzi.  This was a super fun great handling bike.  A few years later the same thing happened so I sold it and bought the CB750 I have now.  I am kind of tried of fixin' up bikes so I hope the Honda will run and run and nobody else wants it.  However I saw a Kawasaki W650 at a restaurant a few weeks ago and it really looked nice.  The owner liked my Honda.  We exchanged business cards but I haven't called him or he me.

The w650 is a good looking bike, no doubt about that.
