 not to start a helmet debate.

 but if you're familiar with that helmet in particular, and bicycle helmets in general, you know it is -possibly- (to be generous) a 3/4 inch thick styrofoam casting with a paper thin layer of plastic for color, with numerous vent holes in it, most of them are pretty much a 'grating' step on it and you crush it.

 there is no way one would prevent injuries if his head was actually 'run over' by a vw bug, let alone a panel truck as stated under the photo.
