I seem to remember somebody on this board (in the USA) tried to purchase one of these systems and was getting the run around. Anybody else remember this?

TG... Marving now lists two exhaust systems for the SOHC CB750 on their website at http://www.exactrep.com/acatalog/index.html?http%3A//www.exactrep.com/acatalog/pp.marving-4-1.html&CatalogBody. Without the VAT the price isn't bad; not sure about the shipping.  :o

Question: Do you (or anyone else) know of someone with a set mounted? Like the vintage Tri-Mil 4-1 I had on my last Rickman-Honda, it looks like there's no way on the Marving to remove the oil filter without dropping the exhaust. I like the Marving "Master" style, but I'm not going through the continuing "exhaust removal" gig again!

Thanks!  RR

I race with a Marving on my CB500, no problems with the oil filter

I had the race version on a CB750F2 about 28 years ago.  Excellent system, but don't remember if there was a filter access problem.

Ricly Racer,
If you get plain band style exhaust clamps, run spigot exhaust, and a single bolt on the back holding the collector.. there should be no reason you cant get the whole exhaust off in 2 or 3 ..minutes....... makes it easy to clean pipes and bike...

Thanks for the replies, guys. Looks like the Marving might be a possibility when things pick up.

754, I actually like the idea of using exhaust springs to make the pipes race-like removable. I may just have to give it a try; it will definately make cleaning easier!  :)  RR

I dont really like the spring idea, but it looks racy.. I understand now after a member here explained that some roadracers have flange cracking issues due to sustained high RPM use, that it has its place.. I think the spring into the head will wear thru the head after a lot of hours, and I would not drill a nice head,

Maybe it time to start making the band and allenhead clamps again.  I think Aluminum would be nice..

When we ran them, we used a 3/8 ratchet with socket to loosen 2 clamps on each side of the bike a couple turns, pop out the collecter srew & wiggle off the pipes.. just a few minutes..  cant really see popping 8 springs off being quicker than backing off 4 bolts a couple turns..

I rode with a guy that had a nickle plated frame 72 750.. it was the cleanest bike you ever see, no matter where it went, people that owned same bike and knew where the hard to clean spots were.. they were always amazed at not being able to find any dirt.. and this would include places like the Rock Store and Sturgis, and it was always ridden there.. Anyway , when cleaning he would just pop off the pipes..

I pulled the750 motor out of the iceracer one night in around 20 minutes, would certainly take longer if I had stud mounts..

 FWIW..

making the spring points at the head was easy and no drilling. simple bolted two little angles to the existing 6mm studs....

thing is that you'll have to weld the hooks to the pipe on the other side.....
