Copper coat ooze
« on: June 21, 2014, 11:33:25 AM »
I copper coated my head gasket. After my test ride of 5 miles took the bike home to inspect it.  I noticed tiny oozes of copper coat coming out around the head gasket, no oil just liquid copper coat.  Is this normal?  I did not go crazy with the coating 2 light coats.  If I have an oil leak at the head gasket again I am going to lose my mind!!!

I copper coated as well.  I see only small or really light oozing, primarily from compression.
Post up a picture for us to see.

Mine's not that bad, but I think you're still ok.  Wipe it clean and check it again after your next ride..

Just got back from a 30 mile ride and looks the same.  No more oozing of copper coat and no oil, so that a positive.  I'll be keeping an eye on it over the coming weeks

Yup, 100% standard.  Every head gasket I have ever done gets a bit of weeping of the coating.

Glad to hear this!  It ran great today, I rebuild the carbs while they were off and synced them with the carbtune.  I was getting bored with riding my CB350K the handling of the twin is so so.
