i am trying to decide on a tank to go with the Dunstall style seat from Carpy.

i was looking at a few from Airtech. either the "UBT Universal Bimota tank"
http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/vintage/images/tanks/ubtcontact.jpg

or the "VTL Vintage tank large"
http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/vintage/images/tanks/vtlcontact.jpg

i am leaning toward the first one. the only pic i could of this tank on a bike was on Carpy's website:

i could not find any of the second tank

what do you guys think? any other suggestions?
there is always getting the stock tank stretched and adding knee-cutouts

the VTL is best in my opinion.  the 1st link up there is over baring and it seems the bike would look weird if you didn't build the bike around the same style as the tank.  VTL is more conventional and classic.  build your own out of an old tank

Airtech has the matching Bimota style seat, too.

thanks for letting me know about the seat...but eww. i dont like it at all. i think the sqaure/geometric/ whatever style of the first tank would match nice with the dunstall style seat.

and i think seeing the tank alone in plain white makes it look a lot more radical than it actualy is on the bike (see the 2 links at the bottom of origional post)

Does anyone know if the VTL tank fits the cb750?

Not as a direct bolt on. You will have to fabricate a mounting system.

I believe the closest thing they have to a direct bolt on is going to be the CR style tank which will be too long to use with Carpy's seat.

I can handle the fabbing, I just wanted to see if it is generally known to work with our bikes.  I would have measured the tunnel but my frame is off at the powder coaters.  Thanks.

Call Airtech. I dealt with them much in the past and they are generally pretty eager to help and pretty knowledgeable about their products. They are in CA so make sure to account for whatever time difference there may be.

Carpy's dunstall seat is intentionally long so you can cut it to size. so any of the airtech tanks will work with it.

still trying to find more pics/opinions of these tanks. i called airtech last night and they were very nice and helpful!

I like the VLT tank, myself. I like the smoothness of it.

Could you post a good picture of it on your bike?

Thanks.
