Spokes - Need Resource for CB450 Honda
« on: May 16, 2007, 06:01:19 PM »
Guys, I need help locating a source for zinc plated spoke sets to fit a 1966 CB450 Bomber.

PartsNMore, Chaparral, Buchanan, and Dennis Kirk doesn't have them. Am I over-looking other good resources?

Thanks,
Gordon

Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

I've since found a NOS Honda front set on EBay for $62 including shipping. i'm happy about that. The folks at Buchanon have about lost a customer. I've used their spokes on many bikes, but when I called them early last week they asked me 20 questions. I've never done a Bomber - they've probably sold a hundred sets - why do they not keep the data? If I was doing something custom or non-stock, then I'd say "ok, I've got to give the rim width, the drop center dimension, the should diameter, the spoke diameter, the nipple diameter, the A and B length ect.

I am spending my money, why can't aI call them and say I want front/rear spokes for a 1966 Black Bomber? They are waiting on me to send mine in for matching. I'm trying to avoid spending my money there. I'll give EBay a month or two or I'll get some from David Silvers.

Thanks for the input - it's appreciated.
