Looks hot, be sure to post some pics of the finished result.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

Add some more to the "interesting life" story... looks like at some point it lost the chain and took out the case, its been welded right by the front sprocket.  Looks like some engine fire damage on/near the bottom of the stator cover too.  Hope this means its just got a lot of heart ;)

He's trying to clean 35 years of oil and sludge buildup from a 1st time "engine out"  not spitting cases , sitting on a bench.  ;D

I like the cart idea, for the wheels, but my back would be killing me.
I use a cheap workmate. Put a piece of wood on top, and you can spin the engine any which way.
................... I think it needs wheels now though  ;D

I've been using these to store and move engines.  Really have saved my aching back!  Perfect size and cheap!  RR

a small furniture mover, four casters, carpeted on two sides, works for me. the engine sits with the mount for the oil filter on one wooden side, the rear of the case seats on the other. as for the stripping, I looked at less abrasive material for my blaster, but couldn't get off the $$folks wanter for walnut, plastic or glass. I'm trying to get stubborn black grill paint off the bikes juggs from its earlier incarnation. I'm going to saturate them and cover with foil or wrap of some kind, then power wash. when its all back together, its a stiff long thin grill brush and a dremel on the lower cases.

juggs and head-white
