« on: May 14, 2007, 06:56:45 AM »
Anybody have a problemm with this. I thought I did something wrong cleaning the carburator. It turns out on my left side carb throttle cable connection is not turning all the way off even though the throttle stop is all the way down, I re routed this thing 4 different ways (soo far)and Can'tgett it to work I also Oiled the (brand new) cable.
Any help

I have a 1971 CB450 that I restored a couple of years ago.  Great bike.  The left side cable can hang up if the cluch cable gets in the way.  Make sure that the throttle cable is routed over the clutch cable.

If you want some photos of the actual routing, let me know.

i got it so the throttle is springing back with snap. I still have the same problem though with the carb.
I get it to idle nicely until i rev it up over 3k then it will hang at 3k and not go lower until i either load the engine or pull down on the innerspring.

A very common problem with the CB450 and usually an indication that the carbs or ignition advance are out of adjustment.  If you haven't done so already, take a look at the website below and scroll through the posts.  There are many threads that deal with this issue.
