Dual Disc Conversion on a K1 model
« on: May 18, 2007, 08:35:35 PM »
Has anyone here done a dual disc conversion on a K1 model? I am planning on doing mine and it seems to me that it would be much easier to swap out the fork lowers off my 73 model and use those because the caliper arm  is that simple 3 point mount design that can swivel 180 degrees and mount on either side with relative ease. The stock K1 caliper appears to be much more difficult to adapt to the right fork.
Also ,if I did use the K3 forks will my K1 fender still mount? The K1 caliper is the top one in the pic. The K3 caliper is on the bottom.

For the later model forks from FAQ http://www.sohc4.net/index.php?title=Dual_disc_conversion
I don't believe the K1 fender will fir the K3 forks.
Cheers,
Cliff.

It won't  - the fender mounts change between models...I had a CNC hanger made for the mirror of the K0 one I had - cheaper to go for the later version that adapts to being flipped around but not as nice looking IMHO  ;D
