I rode a 75' CB550K all through high school, and had been out of biking for about 10 years, when just the other day I picked up a 1978 CB550K that needs a little work. Very excited to get my old bike back.
Basically, the previous owner took the top end apart to replace a few bad valve guides, and never got around to re-assembling it. The bike is basically complete with the exception of needing a new seat cover.
So basically, it has the rebuilt head, new rings, new gasket kit, new cam chain and a new tensioner. I imagine this wont be too hard to get back together.
What I am looking for is a supplier of a seat cover that is as close to OEM as possible. Would be nice to find one with the "HONDA" lettering on the back. Anyone have any leads for this? Also, I noticed that the seat is different from my 75'. It's almost a stepped seat, whereas, I would prefer the original flat seat.
