Here are some close ups of the rearsets. I twisted up the factory brake light switch bracket a little and remounted it on the lower bracket bolt. then I cut a notch into the brake lever and bent up the spring a little to wrap it around. So I have front and rear brake lights. The brake lever by the way is a random kickstarter from the junker. No idea what it fits as it was loose when I grabbed it but the splines are a dead on match. Spent a fair amount of time with a grinder and drill and it works like a charm. Again this was suggested to me by Zanzara as he did the same but I figured the rest of you would like to know how it all came together.

I have also thrown in a picture of the whole kickstarter so you know what to look for

One more thing here, I remember a few weeks ago there was a topic going about taillight options. Well when I went looking I couldn't really find anything that I liked enough to fork over $40 and up for. The Lucas ripoff is nice enough but the bracket available with it looks a little too "O.C.C." for me, like it is billet or something. And with or withought the bracket, it ain't cheap. My thinking for this bike is that it should at least look "period correct", even if it isn't.  This is why I haven't installed newer controls.   I sort of want all the parts to look like they belong on a very nicely done, budget racer.  So I used what a budget builder would use, a trailer light. I cut the bracket off of it, sanded the whole thing smooth, primed, painted, and mounted. The advantage is, it has a dual filament bulb, there is a clear window built into the bottom of it for the plate, I think it looks like it should be there, and it cost $5 brand new. Just an idea, feel free to rip me off.

So, anybody know where I can get this seat covered for a reasonable rate. Everyone here in Seattle wants $350-400

$350-400 sounds just about right.

A guy walked me through the steps, cause I asked, "Why so much".

After talking to him, I completely see why. ::)

Unless you have a friend who works at one of these shops, your stuck!

Best of luck to you, and your bike looks superb.

wow that seems steep for sucha simple seat pad, I can see that price for seat that has some contours to it, I'd be mighty tempted to giver a go myself if that was my seat!  all you need is a chunk o foam and some seat materal. I dunno if your seat has the metal tabs that the seat materal attaches to or like newer seats you staple it in. either way get the material nice and warm and stretch it on! helps if you have a wife/girlfriend/sister/mom who has a sewing machine if you need to make the cover conform to other shapes.  I've helped with a new cover for  an 87 Fazer, and a 79 KZ440, and next winter is a little foam shave/new cover on my CB.

well, perhaps I am being too cheap. I have considered giving it a go myself and I have done so in the past, but they all looked a little amateur. This bike has been done to a higher standard and I just hate to throw something ugly on it. On the other hand I am moving to the U.K. in a couple of months and taking the bike with me. My Mother lives pretty close to where we will be living and she can sew, so I will most likely just wait until I get there and talk her into helping me out a bit.
