Modern carbs

Has anyone ever tried to use modern carbs on a CB350? I'm thinking something like these:

I don't think there should be a big improvement. Even when the manufacture date is 30 years apart, the technology hasn't evolved that much.

Even if the technology had changed significantly since the 70s, I don't think that these carbs would be tuned to the specific needs of your ride.  You'd need to know more than I do about airflow, fuel mixture, backpressure, etc. etc. etc. (see about 1,000,000,000 posts on carb tuning) to get them to perform better than with the ones those crazy engineers from the 70s designed.  Of course I've tried to drill out my mains with a B&D wood bit so I might not be the best to have an opinion ;)
