OMG is there no hope?
« on: June 23, 2007, 01:42:18 PM »
Well, I must be addicted now. I spotted an SL100 parts bike on Craigslist this morning. My wife were heading to that town anyway, so I called the guy. We dropped by and I made a deal.

No tank, no seat, no carb no handlebar switches. But it does have the engine, frame and wiring harness.

$65!

He noticed I didn't come with a trailer. I pointed out that I needed to get a trailer hitch installed on the Jeep Cherokee. He goes around back and comes out with a class 2 trailer hitch assembly which very nearly fits. I will have to have a couple of holes drilled but it will work.

He throws that in free!

The way I look at it, I bought a trailer hitch for $65 and he threw in a parts bike.

Next thing you know, someone here will be telling that they bought a pickup truck pretty cheaply and used it to bring home a fairly decent "Project Bike"! ;D ;)  Just teasing with ya Greg. Good for you on the deal you got. ;)

I think you're really rationalizing with that 'trailer hitch' bit.   ;)

And your wife is clearly facilitating your disease.

There's probably a suitable support group for each of you out there...

If that bike still has the original side covers in good condition with no cracks or missing mounts, they are the most valuable parts on the bike.

        Chris
You are probably right about that. All I seem to have are "Visions of Motorcycles Dancing in My Head" (Sure not sugar plums!)! ;D ;) Been that way since as far back as I can remember! ;D Kinda kept it under control, for the most part, and then it kind of took control over me! ;D Ha!Ha! ;D Now, if only I had the funds it takes to do an obsession like this justice. ;)  I'll get by somehow! ::) ;D
