forum help for a dummy
« on: May 26, 2007, 09:03:34 AM »
Help me out here guys, I don't wish to appear TOO dumb, when I add my .02 to a topic on page, say 96, the forum goes back to page 1 and Ive been clicking away to get back to where I was to begin with. Sure, its something simple to do it right....but I don't see it.  Maybe its time to get a Harley,  my brain cells have rotted.

Replying to any post brings you back to the page with the most recent topics/replies which is page 1, best way to get back where you were is to hit the back button three times, first back will bring you to the reply page, second will bring you to the topic you replied to, the third will bring you to the forum page you were on.

no simpler way that I know of.

If the thread is longer that 1 page it will indicate that just above the 1st post.

Page (1) (2) (3) etc.  Just click on the last number showing.

Also, at the bottom of the reply page is "additional" options.

Check the box that says "return to this topic".  You can see your own post that way.

You can also set the preferences in your profile to automatically take you to the end of a thread after you've replied where the most recent posts are (including your reply).

Click the "Profile" button near the top of the page, then click "Look and Layout Preferences" on the left side underneath "Modify Profile".  Check the box that says "Return to topics after posting by default", and you're all set.

 OOOps, yeah forgot about that!

I normally post a reply after reading the whole post incase some one has already said what I plan to say, and prefer going to the first page, so never thought to mention that.....
