Yes, KB02, on the throttle. You should have a bunch of those made up for sale. I'd pay $20.

I have a quickthrottle unit, but it adds about 3/4 inch to the switch gear, making the right side out of balance with the left.

Probably prefer your method.

I'm going to have to pop it off and measure the twist without the clip in there. By my rough measurements it turns 105 degrees from fully closed to fully open. It was a really rough measurement, though.

I still need to do some more spacing work on the pipes on the chain side.

The one good thing that came out of my attempts at fiberglassing is that I now have a "Temp" seat that I can use. It's ugly, but it lets me sit down if I want to.

The Seat is done... er... well... it's here!!!

I gave up and bought one off of ebay from Rockcity Cafe Racers. It's one thats designed after the CB750 SOHC anyway, so the fit is right where it needs to be. I didn't get home from work until about 8:00 and then I needed to have dinner. I spend enough time in my 40 degree garage to place it on the bike and a design a small alteration to mount the brake light and then I felt it was cold enough to be done for the night. I will try to remember to take a couple of pics in the morning.

Still not the best light, but I have to get up early this morning for work and the sun doesn't want to go by my schedule.

Part of me is disappointed that I didn't make my own seat, but the other part of my realizes that I couldn't have done this good off a job with the limited knowledge that I have in fiberglassing. Still have to mount it, though. So I've got some fabrication work to do. Playing around with the stock hinges tells me that I'll have problems with clearance over the rear shocks when trying to open my seat (trying to retail the stock latch and hinge).

Very cool bike. I read the entire thread and im impressed. I especially like the Benji's 4 into 4 exhaust and the rear sets. I will definitly be subscribing to this thread. Well Done!

Well, the engine is back out of the frame and up on my bench. Getting it that far was good enough for yesterday. I have Wednesday off from work, so I'll be diving into the engine at that point to try and fix the shifting problem. Put a couple of nice scratches on the frame and engine paint getting the two apart, too. That stinks. $:-\$

This is not where I wanted to be at this point of the year:

I was able to pull the lower case off today and think I have found the problem with the shifting.
If you take a look at the pictures of the lower case and then compare it to the fiche, I think it shows that I have the center shift fork in upside down.

I've updated my post on the regular SOHC4 tech board to get a confirmation.

comparing it to the fiche .. it looks like both are reversed .. ... but don't listen to me .. i don't have the best track record as of late

The tell is always, does the pin engage the shift drum?

I just got confirmation in my other post (Took people 8 minutes to diagnose, confirm, and back up with photos

).

If you look at the Fiche, it shows that little finger on the center fork to be on the side of lower gears. If you look at my photos, it is clearly on the wrong side.

As far the pin goes, the pin on the center fork is right on the back of the fork and can, therefore, appear to work either way. Looks like I just F***ed up when I put the engine back together.

Your project is awesome. Everytime I reread it, it makes me want to run up to my garage and lock away the outside world! Look at all you learned over these years, and be nothing but proud - even your "mistakes" were a huge learning experiance. As for the seat, get the RCC seat up and running, and use the bike come Spring. When you are ready for another new project, try your hand again at the seat you want. Regardless of a bought seat, you still MADE this bike from SCRATCH!!!!!!

I can't wait to see vids of you ripping this Beast through the mountain passes this Summer!
