John Soliday - Anyone know what's become of him?
« on: May 29, 2007, 05:12:17 PM »
John started this group when he was living in Chicago, working for Motorola back in 1994.  Sometime afterwards he moved to San Jose, CA and was a VP with Repeater Technologies, a company that went under in 2002.  I've learned that he later ended up in Colorado with Lucent, but that is where the trail goes cold.

If there is anyone here who kept in touch with John over the years, I'd be grateful to know how he's doing these days.

Thanks for taking the time to do the search.  As it happens, John wrote to me last night.  Love those attorney fees - should have gone to law school, they have quite a racket there - and its legal. :-)

I've had a very brief email conversation with John.  On the basis of that, it sounds like he is doing fairly well and loves living in Colorado.  He still has his 836 CB750 race bike and has plans to get it back on the track this year.  No Harley, but he did say that he recently bought a Kawasaki GPZ1100.

John mentioned that he does check in on the web site from time to time and I hope he'll make his presence known on the forums some time.  He not only started all this, but his enthusiasm in the early years was key to keeping it going.

I wonder how many of the 'old' gang, I am member #158, are still here.
Nice to hear that John has not deserted us.

I'm going to run off membership lists from the beginning and post them in a new thread to see how many of the early members are still around.
